When you think about your childhood are there certain moments or memories that stand out to you? I do not remember a lot of memories when it comes to my childhood, but what I do remember is that my mom introduced us to music at a young age and I fell in love with it. I loved hearing the different instruments and voices and I loved to dance along. Jhurell and I knew that we wanted music to be a huge part of the girls lives too, so we introduced them to it while they were still in my belly. Always singing in our home, car and really everywhere, music carries such a special meaning for both of us. Fast forward to the year 2021 and Arie, Layla and Kaila have fallen in love with music too. They love to sing all day long and they enjoy dancing to their favorite songs on repeat. I probably sing them in my sleep! I love the joy that music brings to them and how it makes them want to move their bodies.
We recently discovered GoNoodle and the timing could not have been more perfect. With everyone at home, this was a wonderful solution to the girls being able to get active and move their bodies. GoNoodle is such a great platform for kids! It offers fun, movement-based entertainment, mindfulness, calming down methods and even some laughter. It truly offers everything! I love that GoNoodle seeks to make screen time active time! In 2018 GoNoodle launched in homes with apps for iOS, Apple TV, and Android. In the summer of 2019, apps for Fire and Roku came online. The goal was to allow families to use the apps at home or on-the-go as well. In the Spring of 2020, GoNoodle Games apps launched for iOS and Android. What a fun way to get kids to jump, duck, dodge and hold a pose with their favorite GoNoodle Champs. The GoNoodle Games app includes fast-paced mini-games with fun challenges and you can even earn points! In September of 2020, a really cool program called ¡Vamos! GoNoodle was launched! This reintroduced bilingual and Spanish versions of their most popular content and offered new content as well! GoNoodle is committed to inclusivity and creating culturally relevant content that can be combined with physical, emotional and social wellness. Teachers have recently taken the platform into their classrooms and that is how Kaila discovered the program too! Now they have an exciting new product to offer! All of the girls had the track “Never Eat Soggy Waffles” on repeat and we all really enjoy the song Cookie Boogie too! We had so much fun dancing and moving together! What a great bonding activity. I love that the girls have such a passion for music.
